Chronicle:
This week Torino played in Trieste. It is not easy to win against smaller
teams and for Torino's players, a draw was a satisfactory result. The
headline of a newspaper of the time reads "Penalties and kicks in the shins
decide Triestina - Torino". The referee brought the match to life by
awarding two penalties, one to each team. Torino's penalty was scored by
Menti. In the closing minutes, Bacigalupo kept out an effort that was bound
for the net. Triestina's players protested, saying that the ball had crossed
the line and asked the referee to award a goal but he waved play on and the
match ended in a draw.
