This was the 29th match of the Italian Championship and Torino were at home
to Bologna. Maroso had recovered from injury but was not risked to play.
Bacigalupo played even though he had an injured wrist. The Italian Champions
were favourites but Bologna presented a strong defence with eight men back!
Torino attacked constantly but found it difficult to break through to the
Bologna goal. It was a siege. Torino risked losing a goal and it happened on
one occasion but the referee disallowed it for offside. Finally on 70
minutes, Mazzola scored the all-important goal with an explosive right-foot
shot.
